Measure Work Surfaces and Circulation
Begin with everything that projects beyond the Barton-le-Clay work surface: screen arms, equipment feet, plugs and cable bends. Measure that total depth and the chair's full travel. Walk from the closed door to the seated position and back again. Only the floor left outside that daily movement is available for extra furniture.
If a second surface is needed for paperwork, samples or a visitor, measure it while active. Check that both areas can be reached without squeezing behind the main chair. Open storage doors and printer trays when testing clearance. Keep an uninterrupted approach to the workstation and enough room to stand, turn and leave normally.
